As you may have known Mir had 2 accidents last year.
One happened when the secondary oxegyn generators burst into flames. Every one started rushing for fire extinguishers except for the american who ran to the escape pod and started getting it prepared for departure. The russians, however, tried to put it out but the fire raged on. However, luck was on their side and the fire died down after 14 minutes.
The most heard about accident was when testing out the new docking system for the Progress supply ship, the approach was miscalculated and the craft crashed into the Spektr module, damaging a solar panel and puncturing the hull of the module. the russians quickly blocked off the module and depressurized the rest of the space station. The hull was fixed by a space walk by the russian cosmonauts.
